Everyone has something to say, it’s how you say it that makes it memorable.

CURIOUS ABOUT CREATIVE COACHING?

CREATIVE COACHING: Listening curiously, creating a plan, and guiding the writer step-by-step to complete their amazing book.

I know the mind of creatives; I often refer to my own as a pinball machine. So many ideas, options and interesting distractions. The reality is this; one cannot complete a project in a vacuum. We need each other. I still receive coaching, and I belong to a writing group, and I have a writing partner. No matter how talented, smart or experienced you are, working with others will sharpen you and make you better.

I have coached people who write memoirs, children’s stories, fiction and non-fiction. Each project begins with you telling me what your story is about, why you want to write it and when you want it to be completed. Then, we set goals together and I propose a plan for you.

The plan might be for 3 sessions, 6 sessions or 12 coaching sessions with me, depending on how big the project is and how much you have already accomplished. We can meet weekly, monthly, or whatever suits your life right now. You will have homework, and so will I. My investment in you is vital to your success and your success is vital to my reputation and integrity. I want you to succeed as much as you do.

I will hold you accountable through emails, meetings, reminders, and phone calls.

You’ll explore and create while you also experience personal transformation. When the book is finished, it will be like watching the tallest sunflower reach for the sky, attracting people from all over to come and see it. You will be a proud author!

Your author’s journey will be unique to you. As your coach, I will guide you in taking the next step and provide instruction, resources, encouragement, and accountability so you can reach your goal of becoming a published author.

GHOSTWRITING: You have a great idea for a book. You even have the content and you’ve done the research — but you don’t have the time or energy to put it all together into a complete book. That’s where I come in. I can write your book for you. Here is what it might look like:

You share your amazing idea with me, and if I think I can write an excellent book for you, we agree and sign a contract with clear boundaries for both of us. A payment schedule will be made at this time, budgeting within your limits. I charge $125 per hour of writing, and $75 per hour for meetings and revisions.

I record an interview with you, asking curious questions about your project. I outline the project and send it to you. You make revisions. I adjust. And we begin the journey together.

You have access to my writing program as a collaborator so you can see my progress at any time.

We meet regularly to review the writing and to add more information when needed.

Once the story/book is written, I make revisions and polish it up. You read it and make notes and I revise it again. Then it is edited and proofed by a third party and ready for publishing.

You can self-publish, trade publish or hybrid publish depending on your needs. I can also help guide you in the direction suited best for you.

“I have enjoyed being coached by Sylvia over the past year. She is encouraging, wise and always prepared. Her experience in the field really helped me understand the steps I needed to take and she has also helped me avoid some distracting detours. She gives me confidence, and great ideas have come from our discussions which begin with her wise questions. I was so fortunate to have her alongside me during my creative journey.”

Before meeting Sylvia I had many false beliefs and a vicious inner critic getting in the way of my creativity. With compassion, gentle encouragement, and a practical teaching style she has guided me through discovering my unique process, embracing my voice and honouring my ideas. I will be forever grateful to Sylvia for helping me liberate my creative self to become a writer.
